Why it matters

Assembles its prototype in a former semiconductor fab in Milpitas, next to SLAC. Central challenges are materials, cryogenics, vacuum integration. Heavily funded, young, no lab vacuum tradition. Ideal ground for UHV + materials + cryo expertise.
